I.Profile Principle and Processing of Aluminum Windows

By inserting materials with low thermal conductivity to break the aluminum alloy structure, the thermal insulation performance of aluminum windows is significantly enhanced.
The processing procedures for broken-bridge aluminum window profiles include: raw aluminum billets → heating and extrusion → cutting → aging treatment → pre-spraying treatment → powder/fluorocarbon spraying → inserting insulation strips → film pasting → packaging.
Only A00-grade pure aluminum ingots are used as raw materials, and the 6063 grade is commonly applied in engineering aluminum windows. The extrusion process is similar to making noodles.
When inserting insulation strips, PA66 nylon strips are a must. Renowned brands include Technoform from Germany, while domestic brands like Shanghai Youtai and Shandong Baotai also offer reliable performance for aluminum window manufacturing.
II. Series and Wall Thickness of Aluminum Windows
The common 60 series and 65 series of aluminum windows refer to the width of the profiles (60mm and 65mm respectively). Larger numbers mean higher structural strength, better thermal insulation, but also higher costs.
The new national standard GB/T 8478-2020 requires the wall thickness of door materials to increase from 1.2mm to 2.0mm, and that of window materials from 1.4mm to 1.8mm. However, the "T" in the standard indicates a recommendation, not a mandatory requirement. Affected by market conditions and climate, some regions still use the old standard with a 1.4mm wall thickness for window materials in aluminum windows.
III. Pricing of Aluminum Windows
The price of broken-bridge aluminum window profiles is composed of the spot price of A00-grade aluminum ingots in the Yangtze River market and processing fees (ranging from 4,000 - 6,000 yuan per ton). For example, if the aluminum ingot price is 20,230 yuan per ton and the processing fee is 5,000 yuan per ton, the finished product price will be 25,230 yuan per ton.
There are two pricing methods: weighed price and measured price. The measured price is more conducive to cost control for aluminum window procurement. When using the weighed price, pay attention to the packaging weight during inspection; when using the measured price, focus on the wall thickness of the profiles.
