The National Energy Administration held a symposium on the key proposal of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, titled "Accelerating the Large-Scale Development and Utilization of Tidal Energy". Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Standing Vice Chairman of the China Democratic League, Wang Guangqian, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, especially the handling of key proposals, serves as an important means to implement the requirements of the consultative democracy system, consciously accept the supervision of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and improve and enhance work. Strengthen organizational leadership, establish working mechanisms, conduct in-depth research, pay attention to the transformation of proposal outcomes, closely combine the high-quality completion of key proposal handling with the promotion of energy high-quality development, fully absorb and adopt the opinions and suggestions of key proposals, and specifically formulate relevant policies, plans and measures, achieving positive results. The key proposal handling work has been successfully completed on schedule.
The meeting emphasized that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council attach great importance to the high-quality development of the marine economy and have made clear arrangements, providing fundamental guidance for promoting the large-scale development and utilization of tidal energy and other marine energy. Tidal energy and other marine energy are important components of the marine economy. Large-scale development and utilization are of great significance, conducive to building a new energy system, becoming an energy power, cultivating new marine productive forces, developing marine economy, and building a marine power, and maintaining national security and maritime rights and interests. China's marine energy is currently in the initial stage of technological acceleration iteration and industrialization-scale application. Large-scale development and utilization have certain foundations and conditions, but also faces many problems and challenges. We need to overcome difficulties and challenges, take practical actions, pool the wisdom and strength of all parties to jointly promote and solve them.
The meeting required that we should thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, continuously improve policy measures, promote cost reduction and efficiency improvement, gradually cultivate and expand the industry, and strive to make marine energy become the "new brand" of China's renewable energy industry; we should actively take the initiative, strengthen multi-party collaboration, focus on the current difficulties and bottlenecks, work together in the same direction, and adopt comprehensive measures to form development synergy; we should persistently and earnestly ensure the implementation of policies and plans, increase efforts in core equipment technology research and development, fully promote the implementation of key projects, expand "marine energy +" application scenarios, and accelerate the development of marine energy in the direction of large-scale.
